WB Power Services Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Hire Operations Manager to oversee and support our operations across our Huntingdon and Norwich depots, with a focus on ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational excellence, and compliance with industry standards.

This is a key leadership role supporting critical infrastructure and network-based operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the hire department across both sites, primarily Huntingdon.
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO9001/14001/18001 and internal WB policies.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance procedures in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Drive performance against departmental KPIs and ensure all team targets are met or exceeded.
  • Provide effective line management including appraisals, performance reviews, and mentoring.
  • Manage operational budgets, forecast spend, and report accurately to senior leadership.
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture across all activities and sites.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for customers, delivering timely and effective resolutions.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control and housekeeping across all locations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions on asset failures and NCRs.
  • Support staff development and ensure technical competence across the team.
  • Conduct audits on both equipment and sites, maintaining excellence at all levels.
  • Coordinate closely with the Sales and Stores teams to ensure seamless asset delivery and availability.
  • Continually identify and implement opportunities to improve systems, procedures, and overall efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience within a hire, engineering, or operations environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of power systems, plant hire or generator equipment.
  • Experience managing multi-site operations and mobile teams is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communicator, both internally and externally, with strong problem-solving ability.
  • A proactive leader who can drive continuous improvement and team engagement.
  • Commitment to high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
