Finance Business Partner


Role Purpose

To provide a high quality, end to end financial management service to the Head of Finance, Financial Director, Managing Director and Senior Management Team of The Wilmott Group Ltd, WB Power Services Ltd and Wiltech Acoustics Ltd.

To provide effective line management, leadership and development to the Assistant Finance Manager and drive excellence in all financial and control related matters.

To work closely with other members of the finance and senior management teams to ensure that profit and cash are maximised, performance reporting, planning and business controls are delivered effectively.

Key Deliverables:-

  • Provide an effective partnership to the board of directors and senior management team for the supported business units to deliver a comprehensive, end to end financial service.
  • Undertake financial planning processes, including budget and forecast setting, for the supported business units ensuring that key deliverables, performance indicators, opportunities and risks are clearly identified and understood.
  • Deliver monthly and year end activities for the supported business areas to ensure that reported performance and any variances to plans are accurately communicated and understood, including further risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure that the balance sheet position relating to the supported business areas is always controlled and reflective of the correct financial position.
  • Take ownership of all financial issues relating to supported business areas, ensuring that common priorities are established, risks and opportunities understood and communicated, and clear action plans developed to maximise profitability, governance processes and cash generation.
  • Work as a core part of the team to ensure that external compliance processes such as audit are delivered effectively.
  • Work closely with other areas of the finance team, the Head of Finance and other reports to the Finance Director, to ensure that overall objectives are delivered.
  • Ad hoc investigations and projects as requested by the Head of Finance, Finance Director, Managing Director and Senior Management Team.

Person Specification:-

  • Qualified accountant, with previous experience in driving performance and business improvement.
  • Highly collegiate approach. Creator of strong working relationships at all levels, across functional boundaries.
  • Able to report, communicate and influence effectively across the business and at all levels with a clear focus upon driving improvements to profit and cash.
  • Strong commercial and control focused mind set with high levels of personal resilience. 
  • Highly experienced in the use of ERP systems and knowledgeable regarding the impact of business processes upon financial reporting and controls.
  • Natural team based approach.
  • Strong skill set in working with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Highly proactive approach with strong planning skills.
