Mechanical Shift Engineer

WB Power Services is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to work out of our Huntingdon depot. This is a superb opportunity for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join the business through this rapid period of growth. The business is looking for a driven and motivated Mechanical Shift Engineer to support the team through these exciting times.

The Role

  • Performing both planned and reactive service and maintenance of generators.
  • Working a 12-hour, 4 days on/4 days off shift pattern Days or Nights.
  • Occasionally supporting other engineers out on the road using a company vehicle.
  • Conducting fault diagnosis and carrying out breakdown repairs.
  • Collaborating with Coordinators for efficient planning.
  • Adherence to the company H&S, environmental and quality management systems.
  • General parts collections from suppliers when necessary.
  • Accurate recording keeping using the company’s bespoke management system.

The Person

  • Time served as Mechanical/Electrical engineer or qualified to NVQ level 3.
  • Familiarity with generators ranging from 20-1500kVA.
  • Be able to understand and complete risk assessments.
  • Any experience in a mechanical engineering position is attractive.
  • Full driver’s licence (Max 6 points) – comfortable towing (with training).
  • The capability to deal with a variety of customers from different industries.
  • Comfortable with communicating via telephone and face-to-face.
