WB Power Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Synchronisation Engineer to join our specialist team. The Role
As a synchronisation engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient setup, integration, and troubleshooting of generator synchronisation systems across various customer sites. You’ll support both pre-planned and reactive work, ensuring power continuity and customer satisfaction at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement synchronisation plans for multi-generator and grid-tied installations
  • Execute synchronisation procedures and perform functional testing of control equipment
  • Integrate generators into complex power systems, including load sharing and DNO grid connections
  • Conduct site diagnostics and fault-finding on generator control systems and synchronisation faults
  • Travel to customer sites using a company vehicle (door-to-door paid)
  • Accurately document work, service reports, and maintenance records
  • Collaborate with internal Coordinators for job planning and resource management
  • Participate in the on-call rota (approximately 1 in 6 weeks, with standby pay)
  • Adhere to all WBPS H&S, environmental, and quality policies

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Electrical or Mechanical Engineer (Time-served or NVQ Level 3 )
  • Strong experience in generator systems or related electrical fields
  • Familiarity with synchronisation of multi-generator systems
  • Knowledge of generator control panels: COMAP, DEEP SEA, DEIF
  • Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable working on three-phase, split-phase, and single-phase systems
  • Experience working with DNO providers and knowledge of grid tie-in processes
  • A background in diesel and electric generator operation and integration
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers and colleagues
  • Experience in a mobile engineering role is advantageous

  • £18.40 per hour (based on experience)
