Heanor Shift Engineer
WB Power Services Ltd is recruiting a Shift Engineer to join our team at our Heanor head office, working 5 days out of 7 (predominantly Monday to Friday). This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a thriving, family-run business at the forefront of generator hire, sales, and maintenance across the UK.
As a Shift Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and supporting our fleet of Rehlko and Kohler generators (20–1500kVA), helping to ensure essential infrastructure remains operational across the region.
The Role
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on diesel generators.
- Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs.
- Support mobile engineers in the field on occasion using a company vehicle.
- Work closely with Coordinators to ensure smooth scheduling and effective handovers.
- Collect parts from local suppliers when required.
- Maintain accurate job records using our in-house system.
- Always follow company health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 (or time-served) in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
- Previous hands-on experience with generators (20–1500kVA) is highly desirable.
- Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work independently.
- Full UK driving licence (max 6 points) – towing experience is an advantage, with training available.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work both within a team and unsupervised.
- Capable of completing risk assessments and adhering to safe systems of work.
